Terms of Use

Last reviewed: 29 July 2026
This is a good-faith starting point covering how RideReport's tools work and what you're agreeing to by using them, rather than a substitute for independent legal review. If anything here is unclear, contact us before relying on it for a purchase decision.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By using ridereport.co.za, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. These terms apply alongside our Privacy Policy.

2. What RideReport is — and isn't

RideReport is an independent South African vehicle research tool. We provide:

  • A free AI-generated valuation report for a given make, model, year, variant and mileage band
  • A paid (R49) Industry Value Report giving the official retail/trade value for one specific registered vehicle
  • Comparison, recommendation, finance and photo-inspection tools built on top of the above

RideReport is not a licensed vehicle valuations provider, not a dealer or broker, not a finance or insurance provider, and not a substitute for an in-person mechanical inspection. See our About page for the full statement of what we are and aren't.

3. Accuracy of pricing and report data

Free-tier pricing estimates, known-issue data, depreciation curves and owner-sentiment summaries are AI-generated research guides based on South African market trends and publicly available information. They are estimates, not guarantees, and may not reflect the actual condition, history or transaction value of any specific vehicle. Always verify independently — including a professional valuation and a qualified mechanic's inspection — before making a purchase decision. RideReport accepts no liability for decisions made based on report data; see §8.

4. The paid Industry Value Report

The R49 Industry Value Report returns data resolved against a specific vehicle's registration plate or VIN, sourced from a live industry vehicle-data provider. Reports are delivered to the email address provided at checkout and remain accessible via the original link for 7 days. Because this is a report generated and delivered instantly on request, purchases are generally non-refundable once a report has been generated — if a report fails to generate due to an error on our side, contact us and we'll resolve it or refund you.

5. Photo inspection tool

You're responsible for the photos you upload — only upload images you have the right to use, and don't upload photos of anyone else's vehicle without their knowledge. The tool provides an automated first-pass visual assessment; it is not a substitute for a qualified mechanic's physical inspection and should not be relied on as a final basis for a purchase decision.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to: attempt to disrupt or overload the service (e.g. automated scraping or bulk report generation outside normal use), attempt to circumvent payment for the paid report, misuse the photo-upload tool, or use RideReport for any unlawful purpose.

7. Intellectual property

The RideReport name, logo, site design and underlying software are owned by RideReport. Report content generated for you is yours to use, save and share for personal purposes (e.g. sending a report to a seller or mechanic).

8. Limitation of liability

RideReport is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, RideReport is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or reliance on report data — including financial loss from a vehicle purchase decision. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under South African consumer protection law.

9. Availability

We aim to keep RideReport available and responsive, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access — the service may be unavailable during maintenance, due to a third-party provider outage, or for other reasons outside our control.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last reviewed" date at the top of this page. Continued use of RideReport after a change means you accept the updated terms.
